Are you going to be warm enough this winter?
Winter is here again and it won’t be long before we’ll be faced with those single figure temperatures in the mornings and evenings. Brrrrr! It’s the time of year when the comfort levels of your home really come in to play. There are many options for keeping yourself and your home warm in winter.
How’s your hot water system?
If it’s around 15 years old, it’s probably time to start thinking about a replacement. A freezing cold shower on a winter’s morning is not a good start to the day, so don’t leave it until your system burns out. And it’s not just the inconvenience of a cold shower to consider. Water heating accounts for around 25% of the average household’s energy use, so it’s worth investigating your choices. First, you need to choose your heating method – electric, gas or solar. Then, decide if you’d be better served with a storage tank or instantaneous system. Your household size and the energy star ratings labels are useful guides.
What are your home heating options?
Gas is a clean, green energy choice that’s more affordable than electricity and will save you money now and in the future. There are so many stylish new heating products on the market today, from subtle units that blend into the house, to beautifully designed centrepieces for your living areas. Even if you don’t currently have access to mains gas, this is easy enough for a qualified plumber to organise for most households.
At STS Plumbing, we’re the local experts for gas installations and repairs. We can take care of everything from new meter connections, gas hot water and heating installation and repairs, gas meter upgrades, bayonet point installation.
